ENGLISH FOR INTERNATIONAL BANKING AND FINANCE

Duration: 30 Hours

Prerequisite: Upper Intermediate (400) Level of English

This course is for professional people working in financial institutions and related areas of business. It covers such aspects as bank performance, bank organization, foreign exchange, meetings, presentations, financial news, and so on.

ACCOUNTING I & II

Duration: 40 Hours

Prerequisite: Elementary (101) Level of English

 

This course is divided into two equal units of 20 hours each. Accounting I will enable participants to understand and put in use all types of basic and double-entry transactions. The course includes recording financial activity, classifying and summarizing data in order to prepare a trial balance, an adjusted trial balance, a balance sheet, and a profit and loss account.

 

Accounting II is an extension of Accounting I and covers such areas as accounts receivables, estimating non-collectible accounts, inventories, depreciation, accounts payable, and more advanced financial concepts.

 

REPORT WRITING

Duration: 20 Hours

Prerequisite: Upper Intermediate (400) Level of English

 

Report Writing is designed for practicing managers and secretarial personnel who need to read and write business reports. It covers the contents, structure, organization and language of various types of reports including, accident reports, trip reports, investigative reports, and periodic reports.

 

BUSINESS COMMUNICATION

Duration: 25 Hours

Prerequisite: Upper Intermediate (400) Level of English

Business Communication is aimed at students of varied occupational interests. It covers the essentials of Business Writing such as style, format, request letters, replies, sales and public relation letters, credit and collection letters, in-house correspondence, faxes and much more.

 

ENGLISH FOR TOURISM

Duration: 60 Hours

Prerequisite: Lower Intermediate (300) Level of English

 

This course is designed for people working or training to work in all areas of the tourism industry. It takes the students to an Intermediate level of English, providing the essential vocabulary for tourism while practicing all four language skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing. Some of the topics covered include: flight reservations, changes and cancellations, timetables, travel requirements and much more.

 

ENGLISH FOR MEDICINE

Duration: 30 Hours

Prerequisite: Intermediate (300) Level of English

This course is designed to teach the medical terminology professionals, doctors and nurses need to communicate in English within the medical profession. It helps medical staff to communicate with patients, medical colleagues and paramedical staff. The course covers medical communication from taking a history to treatment.

 

CONVERSATION I

Duration: 20 Hours

Prerequisite: Lower Intermediate (200) Level of English

This course aims at generating student-centered conversations and building core vocabulary necessary to cope with everyday life in English. Students will be encouraged to communicate and converse in English about a variety of topics that relate to their needs.

CONVERSATION II

Duration : 20 Hours

Prerequisite : Intermediate (300) Level of English 

This course is designed to develop the oral cross-cultural communication skills of students. Like Conversation I, it is student-centered. A variety of topics are covered such as employment, travel, health care, consumer information and more.
